CHRIST THE SERVANT MEMBERS will take coffee & cake to Lois Jacobson after worship service on July 28th to celebrate Lois’ 95th birthday! NOISY (OR QUIET) OFFERINGS! Please  consider bringing your loose change to church on Sundays and “noisily” depositing it in the pot!!  CTS and FLC offerings in July will benefit Disaster Relief for the Western Iowa Synod.  You are encouraged to make a “quiet” donation of bills or checks made out to First Lutheran or Western Iowa Synod Disaster Response. PASTOR HUTTON WILL BE GONE ON VACATION July 28-August 9, 2024.   In case of emergency, please call the church office. IT IS TIME FOR SCHOOL BAGS! We will be filling school bags at FLC on August 25th. If anyone wants to contribute, there will be a list of items needed in the Narthex. There will be a box in the Narthex to leave your items.  If you wish to contribute money for shipping, make your checks to First Lutheran or bring money to the church office.  If you have questions, contact Jean Heston or LuAnn Mosbach.   FIRST LUTHERAN SUMMER FELLOWSHIP of donuts will be ongoing all summer after worship in the Fireside room with the exception of the outdoor worship Sundays.  Please join in this fellowship opportunity! AUGUST IS A MEAL IN A BOX MONTH at the Ministries Center.  Examples would be Hamburger Helper, Tuna Helper, and Complete Meals.  Thank you!  Please consider helping with this ministry!  The Ministry Center also needs volunteers!  Ministry Center hours: Open M/W/F 9:30-11:30 am 410 S. 7th St.—774-8146 Salvation Army Assistance available during open hours.  Don’t forget the blessing boxes found around town can use donations, too!!   CLUSTER 9 WELCA IS PROVIDING SCHOLARSHIPS to assist female students.  Female members of First Lutheran enrolled in a post-secondary institution can apply.  Deadline is August 15, 2024.  Applications can be picked up in the church office. THERE ARE ONLY 2 SUNDAYS LEFT TO SPONSOR IN 2024!   The available dates are November 10 and December 1. LUTHERAN ADULT FELLOWSHIP will meet on Sunday, July 21, at 5 pm.  Duane and Cindy Bedford will host.  Please bring an item to share.    FIRST LUTHERAN WILL HOLD OUTDOOR WORSHIP on Sunday, July 21 at 9 am on the west side of the church.  Please bring your lawn chair and plan to stay for coffee cake fellowship after the service! YOU ARE INVITED TO THE LUCAS COUNTY FAIR ECUMENICAL WORSHIP SERVICE on Sunday, July 21 at 11:00 am at the Lucas County Fairgrounds at the outdoor stage.  Bring your own lawn chair.  In case of rain, it will be held in the indoor arena.  This service is sponsored by Interchurch Council.   NOISY (OR QUIET) OFFERINGS! CHURCH COUNCIL  will meet on Monday, July 15 at 6:30 pm in the Library.  This meeting was postponed from July 8. THE CTS WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY GROUP will meet on Tuesday, July 16, at Christ the Servant beginning at 11:30 am.   FIRST LUTHERAN WILL HAVE AN OUTDOOR WORSHIP SERVICE on Sunday, July 21.  Please bring your lawn chair to the service on the west side of the church.
