Worship Plan Update for
Sunday, June 19,
at First Lutheran
Due to the forecast of heat and the concrete work being done around the church, we will worship inside in the sanctuary this Sunday, June 19, at First Lutheran. The handicapped parking area will be blocked off, but we will have a wheelchair up by the flagpole for those who might need it. There will be parking available on the north side of the church and along the gravel road leading into the church parking lot.
Following worship, we will have cinnamon rolls and coffee!!! The proceeds from the cinnamon rolls will go toward the purchase of a new computer monitor for the office.
Please pass this update along to those whom you know that do not have e-mail.
LUTHERAN ADULT FELLOWSHIP will meet on Sunday, June 19, at 5 pm. Your hosts will be Marlene Oxenreider and Lonna Wantland. Please bring a food item to share.
THE CTS WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY GROUP will meet on Tuesday, June 21, at Christ the Servant beginning at Noon.
ON SUNDAY, JUNE 26, all are invited to the Fireside Room following worship at FLC to help Miriam Hibbs celebrate her 95th birthday. Cake will be served.
ON SUNDAY, JULY 3,
FIRST LUTHERAN WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE INDEPENDENCE DAY WORSHIP SERVICE AT THE GAZEBO ON THE CHARITON SQUARE.
THE SERVICE WILL BEGIN AT 9 AM.
Please bring your lawn chairs!! This service is sponsored by the Lucas County Interchurch Council. Pastor Dick will be one of the clergy participating in the service.
There will not be a worship service at First Lutheran on July 3 – we encourage all to attend the worship service on the Chariton square. Please give any offering that you would have given on July 3 either on June 26 or July 10.
CHRIST THE SERVANT WILL WORSHIP AT THEIR REGULAR WORSHIP TIME OF 11 AM ON JULY 3.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
Thank you everyone for making our May 24th Chariton First Responders Free Drive Through Dinner a success. Despite the rain, and thanks to the Bisgard’s and Hutton’s tents, everything went smoothly and almost everyone stayed dry.
We had 40 volunteers help serve steak, chicken or hamburger sandwiches, potato salad, baked beans, a cookie, and drinks. 120 dinners were served to Responders and their families, and 40 dinners to our helpers, and even though the fire department was called to a fire, and the ER was overwhelmed, everyone was served and from the responses we received, food was warm and good.
It was a wonderful evening of fellowship, and conversation, and a true show of our Love for those people that protect and care for us every day.
So, whether you volunteered, donated financially, or did both, we thank you sincerely for being a part of this event. You are so appreciated!! Let’s do this again!
God Bless You All,
Your Evangelism Committee
