THERE ARE ADVENT DEVOTIONALS for both adults and young people in the narthex at First Lutheran and in the basement at Christ the Servant Lutheran.  For the adults there is a devotional entitled “Our Greatest Gift, A Wonderful Life in Christ” and for the young people a devotional on praying through Advent, “Jesus’ Family Tree.”
If you would like to pick up one of these during the Drive-thru Communion at First Lutheran on Sunday, December 6 – please ask for it as you drive through.

“SHARING THE WEIGHT” BLANKET MAKING at CTS will take place this Tuesday, December 8, from 9 am – 3 pm.

MID-WEEK ADVENT SERVICES CONTINUE on Wednesday evenings, December 9 & 16, at 7 pm, at First Lutheran.  We will focus our worship around a new liturgy – “Joyous Light” and lessons from the prophets (Isaiah, Zechariah, and Daniel).  We hope you’ll join us for these festive services!

HEADSTART HATS & MITTENS:
Due to the difficulties for people to shop this year, we won’t have the Christmas hat and mitten tree for the Headstart children. Instead, we are doing a winter project for the children. Our committee is donating our budgeted money to Headstart. We will collect money donations if you’d like. If you’ve already bought a hat and mittens, we will collect those also. We ask that they are one size fits all, and that the mittens are warm. We will present these gifts to Headstart on December 23rd.. The teachers will take care of each child’s needs. Please give your gifts to LuAnn, Allison, or Jean by December 20th.                Thank You!
                             The Social Concerns Committee

Please consider providing a poinsettia plant for the season of Christmas.
IN CHARITON, please have them at the church by Christmas Eve morning.
In Corydon, please bring them with you on Christmas Eve.

THANK YOU to our church family for all of the prayers, thoughts, phone calls, texts, cards, and well wishes that were sent our way following my back surgery, and then to support us through the COVID virus. We are so fortunate and thankful for our church family. We are doing much better and are back to work. Blessings to you all!  Here’s to 2021!   Deb and Hunter Clark
