LUTHERAN ADULT FELLOWSHIP will meet on Sunday, August 9, at 5 pm. Please bring a food item to share. Earl & Linda Comstock will host.
CTS WORSHIP & MUSIC COMMITTEE will meet at 11 am on Monday, August 10.
LAPLANDERS QUILT GUILD AT CTS will meet on Monday, August 10 beginning at 2 pm.
CHURCH COUNCIL will meet on Monday, August 10 at 6:30 pm at FLC.
BREAKFAST GALS will meet at 8 am on Tuesday, August 11 at Hardees.
“SHARING THE WEIGHT” BLANKET MAKING will take place on Tuesday, August 11 from 9 am-3 pm at CTS.

THE WOMEN OF THE ELCA will gather on Thursday, August 13, at 1 pm.

ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 16, outdoor worship is being held on the west side of First Lutheran on the large cement pad to begin at 9 am. Please bring your lawn chairs. Please plan to stay for the fellowship! Coffee cake will be served after the service.
ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 23, CHRIST THE SERVANT will hold worship at the Corydon Reservoir Park at 11 am. A picnic will be held after the worship service.
BLESSING OF BACKPACKS will be held on Sunday, August 23 during worship at both First Lutheran and Christ the Servant. Students are encouraged to bring their school backpacks for the blessing. First day of school for Chariton and Wayne is Monday, August 24.
IT IS TIME TO FILL SCHOOL BAGS!
We will be filling school bags at FLC on August 30th. If anyone wants to contribute, there will be a list of items needed in the Narthex. There will be a box in the Narthex to leave your items. Please have your items here by August 23rd so we can have them ready for filling on the 30th. If you wish to contribute money for shipping, make your checks payable to First Lutheran or bring money to the church office. If you have questions, contact Jean Heston or LuAnn Mosbach.
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 13, First Lutheran will be holding the 9 am worship service at Red Haw State Park in the stone shelter. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy the outdoor service by the lake!
MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 21!
On Wednesday, October 21 at 5:30 pm, there will be a congregational birthday dinner at First Lutheran for all members of First Lutheran and Christ the Servant. Plan to attend and celebrate everyone’s birthday on the same day!
Watch for registration information in September. A catered meal will be provided and birthday cake will be the dessert. Registration deadline will be Sunday, October 4. Plan now to attend and celebrate with your church family!
NOISY OFFERINGS!!
Please consider bringing your loose change to church on Sundays and “noisily” depositing it in the pot! Offerings August through November at First Lutheran will go to a needy family. Offerings at Christ the Servant will go to the Food Pantry.
AUGUST IS A MEAL IN A BOX MONTH at the Ministries Center. Examples would be Hamburger Helper, Tuna Helper, and Complete Meals. Please consider helping with this ministry! Thank you!
