| Chariton Community Schools first day of school is Friday, August 23. Wayne Community Schools first day of school is on Monday, August 26. Susan will be gone on vacation August 26-28, 2024. BLESSING OF BACKPACKS & TEACHERS will be held on Sunday, August 25 during worship at both First Lutheran and Christ the Servant. Students are encouraged to bring their school backpacks for the blessing. Teachers are encouraged to attend. Chariton’s first day of school is Friday, August 23 and Wayne’s first day of school is Monday, August 26. IT IS TIME FOR SCHOOL BAGS! We will be filling school bags at FLC on August 25th. Everyone is welcome (and encouraged) to stay and help fill the bags after the service. If you wish to contribute money for shipping, make your checks to First Lutheran or bring money to the church office. If you have questions, contact Jean Heston or LuAnn Mosbach. NOISY OFFERINGS! Please consider bringing your loose change to church on Sundays and “noisily” depositing it in the pot!! CTS and FLC offerings through the end of the year will benefit needy families. FIRST LUTHERAN SUMMER FELLOWSHIP of donuts will end this Sunday, August 25. Please join in this fellowship opportunity on Sunday!! SEPTEMBER IS JUICE MONTH at the Ministries Center. Examples would be fruit juices, vegetable juices, (tomato & V8), and juice boxes. Thank you! They DO NOT need ½ gallon milk jugs. Please consider helping with this ministry! If you would like to volunteer at the Ministry Center the days and hours are listed below.
