Easter Lily Sign-Up At Chariton:  If you plan to donate a lily for Easter Sunday at First Lutheran, you may designate it as a memorial or in honor of someone. A sign-up sheet is on the table in the narthex or you can call Wendy in the church office (641-774-4875).  Please let Wendy know by Tuesday, March 30, if you want added to the list.  The list of names will be printed in the Easter bulletin.
 At Corydon: Corydon members please bring your Easter lilies to the church with you on Easter Sunday morning.

CIRCLE OF FREEDOM
WORKDAY – SATURDAY, APRIL 10
8 am – 1 pm
At the Circle of Freedom Building
400 E. 4^th Street in Seymour, IA
Lunch, snacks, bottled water, and coffee will be provided.  Porta potty available on site.
Tools to bring:  work gloves, safety goggles, hammer, sledge hammer, shovel, sawzall, flat crowbars, skill saw, cordless drill, stepladders, wheelbarrows, yard tools (rakes, pruning shears).  Please mark your tools.
 Release forms are required to be signed by everyone and must be signed by parent/guardian for everyone under 18. They are available at both CTS & FLC.  They will also be available to sign at the event.
 RSVP by text, phone call or email by noon Tuesday, April 6th if possible so we know how many to plan for lunch.

The author of Ecclesiastes (traditionally thought to be Solomon) enjoyed power, wealth and access to all of life’s pursuits and pleasures.  After experiencing a full measure of life “under the sun”, he declares it all to be futile and unsatisfying.  Only as he lives “above the sun” – with an eye toward God – does life become meaningful and fulfilling.  Ultimate satisfaction comes not from the good things of life but from the Giver of Life, the one we are to fear, honor and obey.

THE UNION HOTSHOTS 4-H CLUB IS HOSTING A DRIVE THROUGH MEAL OF THELMA’S FRIED CHICKEN MEAL at the Wayne County Fairgrounds between 4-6:30 pm on Thursday, March 25th.  Tickets must be purchased ahead of time.  They are available from Dalton Lukavsky, Corydon State Bank, Corydon Great Western Bank, Corydon Vet Clinic and Wayne County Hospital, Mindy Prunty.

MID-WEEK LENTEN WORSHIP AT FIRST LUTHERAN:  This Wednesday, March 24, at 7 pm, concludes our mid-week Lenten services at First Lutheran. Our journey to the cross this year has focused on the love of our Savior and the world which received him.  Join us for this journey to Calvary. 
** Our Wednesday mid-week offerings this year will be given to the Circle of Freedom ministry. 
** The “Noisy Offerings” taken on Sundays and the drive-thru communion during Lent will go to ELCA World Hunger.

INTERCHURCH COUNCIL HOMELESS APARTMENT is in need of the following items that they use a lot of: laundry detergent, dryer sheets, dish soap, children’s body/hair wash (no tears), toilet paper, and paper towels.  If you would like to donate any of these items, please leave them in the church office and Wendy will see that they get where they are to go.

THERE ARE LENTEN DEVOTIONALS for both adults and young people in the narthex at First Lutheran and in the basement at Christ the Servant Lutheran.  For the adults there is a devotional entitled “Steadfast Love” and for the young people a devotional entitled “What Do I See at Calvary”.  

DURING LENT, CTS WILL BE COLLECTING ITEMS FOR PERSONAL CARE KITS FOR LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF.  An Action Team Grant has been applied for to purchase bath towels and members are being asked to donate combs, toothbrushes, nail clippers, and bar bath soap or a monetary donation to complete the kits.  On April 6^th, at 9:30 am, we will assemble and pack the kits to go to the ingathering on April 17.
