ON SUNDAY, JUNE 12, WE WILL CELEBRATE WITH AVA KRUTSINGER, DALTON LUKAVSKY, ALEX OXENREIDER, and CONNOR SHORE on their confirmation at Chariton. A reception honoring the confirmands will be held in the Fireside Room following the worship service.
THE BREAKFAST GALS will meet on Tuesday, June 14, at Hardee’s, beginning at 8 am.
“SHARING THE WEIGHT” BLANKET MAKING at CTS will take place on Tuesday, June 14, from 9 am-3 pm.
FIRST LUTHERAN OUTDOOR WORSHIP SERVICE
SUNDAY, JUNE 19
On Sunday, June 19, outdoor Worship is being planned on the west side of First Lutheran on the large cement pad to begin at 9 am. Please bring your lawn chairs.
LUTHERAN ADULT FELLOWSHIP will meet on Sunday, June 19, at 5 pm. Your hosts will be Marlene Oxenreider and Lonna Wantland. Please bring a food item to share.
EVAN HAVICK, son of Paul and Diane Havick, will be married to TAYLOR OLSEN on Saturday, June 11 in Chetek, Wisconsin. Evan is a design engineer for Doosan Bobcat at Johnson Creek, and Taylor will be starting her second year of medical school at the University of Wisconsin this fall. They currently reside in Madison.

Thank you everyone for making our May 24th Chariton First Responders Free Drive Through Dinner a success. Despite the rain, and thanks to the Bisgard’s and Hutton’s tents, everything went smoothly and almost everyone stayed dry.
We had 40 volunteers help serve steak, chicken or hamburger sandwiches, potato salad, baked beans, a cookie, and drinks. 120 dinners were served to Responders and their families, and 40 dinners to our helpers, and even though the fire department was called to a fire, and the ER was overwhelmed, everyone was served and from the responses we received, food was warm and good.
It was a wonderful evening of fellowship, and conversation, and a true show of our Love for those people that protect and care for us every day.
So, whether you volunteered, donated financially, or did both, we thank you sincerely for being a part of this event. You are so appreciated!! Let’s do this again!

COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE TO WOMEN
The Cluster Organization of the Women of the ELCA is giving scholarships for the academic year of 2022-2023 to any female of any age attending an institution of higher learning who is a member of a church in our Conference 9. Those just graduating and those returning to college are all encouraged to apply. Total scholarship dollars will be determined at the fall cluster meeting. Applications are to be received by the scholarship committee by August 15, 2022. Forms are available at First Lutheran on the desk in the Fireside Room. In Corydon, you will find them on the table in the basement. You can also call Wendy in the church office (641-774-4875) and she will mail one to you.
